Whilst relevant experience and a degree or diploma in acoustics is invaluable, we consider and employ consultants who have qualifications in a wide range of subjects, and no previous experience in this field. In fact, we have staff from engineering, geography, planning, environmental health and audio and music technology backgrounds who start their careers with us, and many stay to grow through work and training into successful consultants.
Whether you’re moving between consultancies or across disciplines, or just starting out, we look for good communication skills, the ability to multi-task and think on your feet, be happy working inside and out in the field, either solo or in teams, learning new skills and teaching others, then maybe there is a successful acoustic career with us.
Sharps Redmore’s main office is located in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, just 10 minutes from Ipswich. We also have an office in the center of Wakefield for the North of England, and staff working from their home offices in Scotland, Wales and the South-West. Depending upon your specific background, other locations both in the UK and abroad are possible for the right person.
All our staff are given significant levels of trust early on, allowing them to grow the skills they have and challenging them with new skills, to become better consultants on a daily basis, whilst feeling part of a supportive team.
From one day to the next, your work life is unlikely to be boring as you step between projects led by yourself or as part of a team.
