Emily graduated from Keele University in 2014 with a first-class honours degree in BSc Geography. Emily became interested in a career in acoustics after completing her final year dissertation on tranquillity and attitudes to noise in a popular countryside beauty spot in Derbyshire. After joining Sharps Redmore and learning the fundamentals, Emily successfully completed the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control at London South Bank University in 2017.
Her project experience comprises of a wide range of schemes including hotels and residential, offices, education establishments, healthcare and BREEAM compliance. Emily works across all stages of a project including planning, design, construction and pre-completion. Like her colleagues, Emily acknowledges the importance of site work in acoustics. She has extensive experience with surveying, site inspections through the construction period and pre-completion compliance testing. She enjoys meeting Clients out on site and working collaboratively with other members of a design team. Emily also oversees the vital task of organising the routine maintenance and calibration of equipment in the Sharps Redmore offices and supports with administrative tasks for our UKAS accreditation.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family. A good day is spent packing lunch and heading out on a long walk in the countryside – preferably somewhere with hills but we don’t have many of those in Suffolk!
