After graduating from Anglia Ruskin University with a first-class honours degree in BSc Audio and Music Technology, Emma decided to join Sharps Redmore due to her fascination with the soundscapes of our natural and man-made environments. Originally coming from a musical background, Emma’s time at university made her also gain a deep appreciation for the science of sound whilst completing the “audio engineering” and “acoustics” modules her course offered. This led her to do a podcast interview with Sharps Redmore Director Nick Durup and receive the “Sharps Redmore Acoustics Award 2022” for her work on her acoustics module at ARU, kickstarting her journey of joining the company in 2024.
Emma’s works in both environmental and building acoustics, often taking on larger projects and seeing them through from early planning stages to final commissioning. Since joining Sharps Redmore, Emma has worked on a wide variety of projects, including in the education, healthcare, residential, commercial, leisure, public service and industrial sectors. Emma enjoys the amount of variety in her work, and loves seeing a project through to completion, dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.
Outside of work, Emma’s main hobby is Pole Fitness, though music remains a huge part of her life, and she enjoys a good gig every once in a while. Between the gym, seeing family and friends, and perusing her other creative interests, Emma has little time for much else, but is always looking to travel, try new things, attend events and generally get outdoors!
