Environmental & Sustainability Policy

Sharps Redmore is an independent acoustic consultancy practice operating throughout the UK and overseas. The company provides advice on acoustics, noise and vibration. No hardware goods are manufactured, and no construction operations are performed.

Our operational-related environmental impacts are proportionate to our size and turnover and are kept under review for continuous improvement.

In context to our business and service provision, our construction-related environmental impacts can be deemed negligible.

Our statement of general policy is:

  • To continuously review our operational-related impacts on the environment. Our impacts include building energy consumption and emissions; vehicle fleet energy consumption and emissions; vehicle fleet congestion effects on the road network; other transport system emissions; consumables and waste.
  • Where reasonably practicable, to reduce building energy consumption through the use of improved thermal insulation materials.
  • To reduce hearing system gaseous emissions through the use of modern and well-maintained appliances and/or potential alternative (renewable) fuels.
  • To operate a vehicle fleet proportionate to our needs and compromising as many ‘clean’ diesel or electric/hybrid/non-fossil fuel cars as practicable given engine technology options available on the market.
  • To review travel/ journey needs for meetings given the communication and media outputs available on the market.
  • To use public transport where practical and appropriate.
  • To reduce our consumption of paper used in the production of documents.
  • To re-use (repair) the scientific and IT equipment needs for our day-to-day business.
  • To recycle residual wastes such as paper, plastic, glass, cardboard, packaging and garden waste through proper facilities and waste carriers.
  • To maintain/ improve out grounds as to promote biodiversity and a sense of well-being for staff.
  • To comply with all relevant environmental standards.

The company reviews its sustainability performance and make alterations to our practices where necessary to move towards a more sustainable future.
