Baitul Futuh Mosque

Baitul Futuh Mosque

A quiet place for coming together in prayer, the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, South-West London, welcomes around 10,000 visitors each day, and is considered the largest Mosque in Western Europe. Featuring a gymnasium, offices, library and television studios, the Baitul Futuh is far from your average mosque.

In 2015, a devastating fire damaged the Mosque’s administration building, which prompted the redevelopment of this large, 5-storey space which is now both practical and beautiful at the same time.

Sharps Redmore had the pleasure of providing acoustic services for this redevelopment. As this was a large site, there were a number of acoustic issues to address. To highlight a few, excessive reverberation needed to be controlled in the large prayer halls, and mechanical ventilation needed to be quiet enough in the dormitories for people to sleep soundly.

Throughout this project, the upmost care was taken in every room to ensure all spaces were fit-for-purpose, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere for regular worshippers and visitors alike.
