Lime Wood Primary School

2023 saw the opening of Lime Wood Primary School – an architecturally beautiful circular building situated in the London Borough of Bexley.

The building, which is a hollow circular shape, was designed to inspire pupils and provide staff with great spaces to teach in. Being circular, the school also benefits from ample natural daylight and provides a safe, central courtyard space for students to play.

However, the building posed a unique acoustic challenge due to it’s curved shape. From providing acoustic design advice to UKAS sound insulation testing and helping the building to achieve BREEAM credits, Sharps Redmore carried out a range of services on behalf of Anderson Group UK to make this school as acoustically exceptional as it is architecturally outstanding.

The school opened in 2023 and now provides many school places for students living within the surrounding housing development, “The Quarry”.
