Acoustic Modelling

At Sharps Redmore we use SoundPLAN 3D acoustic noise modelling software to provide our clients with a visual, easy to interpret 3D noise model.

SoundPLAN allows input external built environments, terrain and sound data, to visualise the propagation of sound around an environment to noise sensitive receptors.

SoundPLAN is regularly used by Sharps Redmore on larger projects, such as where there are numerous building services noise sources and receptors, or where there is large road or rail network infrastructure noise affecting developing sites.

Whilst our consultants often choose when to use SoundPLAN, clients can also request that a 3D model be included within an assessment when appropriate.

Internal room acoustic modelling is undertaken by specialist staff, where there are complex spaces or where the exploration of design options is needed.

Sharps Redmore use CATT-Acoustic to assess and review various acoustic parameters within the design process. This, alongside practical experience over many years, provides a robust design process .
