Due to our long and specialised knowledge in acoustics, noise and vibration, a number of our senior staff members are experienced expert witnesses, bringing our independent expertise to a Public Inquiry or courtroom. Our expert witnesses have worked with many of the UK’s leading planning Chambers, with both King’s Council and leading Junior Barristers.
Through research, analysis of data and review of documentation, we can assist in providing that independent view that can be trusted within a court environment, reviewing evidence and explaining technical concepts as they relate to a specific issue clearly.
Sharps Redmore can also provide impartial expert second opinions on projects, where a client may be concerned as to the advice they are receiving.
We follow the Institute of Acoustics & Association of Noise Consultants Code of Conduct when providing second opinions, so our service is transparent to the relevant parties.
We are sometimes requested to work on two sides of the same project, in which case we employ ‘chinese wall’ principles to separate services internally, so information and advice is transferred appropriately with relevant external parties.
